Taurasi DOCG “Opera mia” is a red wine with an impenetrable ruby red colour with garnet reflections. On the nose it expresses a texture of red fruits and ripe forest fruits, black cherry, blueberry, which are completed with a spicy note of coffee and chocolate. On the palate it is deep, complex, of great finesse and elegance. A truly excellent sip that closes with a balsamic, intense and persistent finish.

Description

Taurasi DOCG “Opera mia”: why we like it

Aglianico, a high quality grape variety, has found the best territory in the green hills of Irpinia to be able to express itself. “Opera Mia” is the result of the pure vinification of Aglianico grapes from the “Carazita” and “Pesano” vineyards, located in the municipalities of Luogosano and Sant’Angelo all’Esca at 450 meters above sea level. and with a clayey-limestone type of soil with evident volcanic outcrops.

The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, transported to the cellar where they are carefully selected before being destemmed. The fermentation process takes place at a controlled temperature and maceration “on the skins” lasts for about 20 days. After fermentation, it ages in French oak barriques for 12 months, then in concrete tanks for another 24 months and finally for at least 12 months in the bottle.

It matches particularly with roasted meat dishes, game, aged cheeses and sausages with an intense flavour, braised and stuffed pasta, elaborate ethnic dishes. Uncork and decant the bottle an hour before and serve at a temperature of 18 ° C.

Ho scoperto il Taurasi DOCG Opera Mia dopo aver letto alcune recensioni positive e ho deciso di provarlo. Devo dire che ha superato le aspettative! Il vino ha un gusto profondo, con note di frutta rossa matura e un tocco speziato che lo rende molto interessante. L’ho abbinato a un brasato ed è stato un successo, ma è ottimo anche da gustare da solo, magari davanti a un camino acceso. L’acquisto online è stato semplice, la spedizione veloce e il vino è arrivato perfettamente imballato. Lo consiglio a chi cerca un rosso corposo di qualità garantita!
