Campania Passito IGT “Chicco D’oro”: why we like it
The vinification process of 100% Fiano grapes results in the Chicco D’oro raisin wine from vineyards located in the hilly area of the towns of Luogosano and Sant’Angelo all’Esca.
The Fiano vine is one of the flagships of Campania winemaking. Endowed with great versatility, Chicco D’oro is the exaltation of the withering of Fiano grapes on the sunny hills surrounding the Tenuta Cavalier Pepe winery.
The grapes remain on the vines until November and after an excessive ripening it is possible to harvest the grapes that remain on the canes to obtain further aging. When the optimum amount of sugar is reached, the grapes are immediately pushed and pressed. Then the wine ferments and ages in oak barrels before being placed in bottle.
This is a full, very aromatic and soft raisin wine, ideal for special moments.
