Beneventano Falanghina IGT frizzante “Regina Isabella sui lieviti”: why we like it
This sparkling Beneventano Falanghina IGT, made for the first time in 2019, is produced with pure Falanghina grapes from vineyards planted in the territory of the municipality of Sant’Agata dei Goti, an area famous for the cultivation of important historical and indigenous grape varieties of the Campania region. The vineyards are situated at about 250 meters above sea level on volcanic, limestone and clay soil with a southeastern exposure of the vines. The training system used is guyot, with a density of 3300 vines and a production of 80 ql of grapes per hectare.
After harvest, once the grapes arrive at the winery, the fermentation phase begins in temperature-controlled steel vats for about two weeks. A bottle refermentation with its own must then takes place, without disgorging.
The characteristics of this wine make it a must especially as an aperitif, but it is extraordinary when paired with white pizzas and fried pizzas in the Neapolitan tradition. Also indicated on Italian-style fried foods such as potato crocchè, mozzarella in carrozza, and pasta frittata. To enjoy it at its best, serve at a temperature of l0°C.
