Irpinia Aglianico DOC “Nepos”: why we like it
This Irpinia Aglianico DOC “Nepos” by Armando Coppola expresses the typicality of Aglianico grapes, grown and cared for using methods that respect the authentic characteristics of the grape variety. The grapes are harvested by hand in the last decade of October and undergo fermentation at a controlled temperature. The maceration of the skins for about 20 days and the malolactic fermentation carried out completely in steel contribute to giving the wine a harmonious balance and a well-balanced structure.
After vinification, the wine matures for 15 months in steel, preserving its fresh aromas and lively flavor, and then rests further in bottle for 3-4 months before release. The result is a versatile and fresh wine, perfect to accompany a variety of dishes.
Its special characteristics make it suitable for pairing with savory first courses, white meats, light roasts and medium-aged cheeses. It is recommended to be enjoyed at a serving temperature of 16-18 °C.
