Taurasi DOCG “Vigna S. Michele”: why we like it

This Taurasi DOCG “Vigna S. Michele” red wine produced by the Miér Vini winery is an expression of the beauty and versatility of the Aglianico grapes, showing the very high quality of this vine. This wine is obtained from a scrupulous selection of pure Aglianico grapes coming from vineyards located in the municipality of Taurasi, particularly suited to the production of the Taurasi DOCG designation.

The grapes are harvested by hand in boxes at the end of October, then transported to the cellar where they are carefully selected. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine matures for approximately 12 months in second passage oak barrels. Then it completes its aging period in steel containers and concludes with a period of refinement in the bottle. This wine is not filtered, having a very low sulphite content, and it is not clarified with animal-based adjuvants.

The intense and specific characteristics of this Taurasi DOCG “Vigna S. Michele” red wine match perfectly with land dishes, roasts and grilled meats, ragout, aged cheeses, gorgonzola, caciocavallo, cured meats. It is recommended to taste it in a large ballon at a service temperature of 18°C ​​after resting in the decanter for at least an hour.
