In fact, the most famous wines at that time, as “Falerno”, “Caleno”, “Faustiniano”, named “the emperors’ wines” by Cicero, Virgil and Martial, were produced in the Campania region, that Pliny The Elder not by chance defined with the name of “Campania Felix” in order to stress its particularly flourishing morphological conditions.
