Taurasi DOCG “Vigna Piano D’Angelo” 2015: why we like it
Taurasi DOCG “Vigna Piano D’Angelo” is a red wine produced with 100% Aglianico grapes coming from the vine located in the territory of Taurasi, where Sella delle Spine winery is located.
The vines grow on a sandy and volcanic soil, which gives them strength and resistance. Vineyards are cultivated through a specific system called “spurred cordon”, characterized by a type of “short” pruning that is based exclusively on the environmental, geographical and vegetal parameters that distinguish the typology of plant cultivated, its location and the climatic conditions to which it is subjected.
The harvesting time starts the first ten day of November unitl the end of the month. After the harvesting time and the pressing phase, it is stored for 4 months in French oak barriques and for 18 months in large barrels (maximum capacity: 500 litres for each one). Once bottled, it has a 2-year refining time.
It is easy to combine with red meats, braised meats, game and aged cheeses and it should be served at a temperature of 18 degrees.
