Sannio Piedirosso Sant’Agata dei Goti DOC “Artus”: why we like it
This Sannio Piedirosso Sant’Agata dei Goti DOC is produced with pure Piedirosso grapes from vineyards planted in the Santacroce locality, in the territory of the municipality of Sant’Agata dei Goti, in the wine district of the famous Sannio DOC appellation. The vineyards are located at about 250 meters above sea level, on soil consisting of volcanic, limestone and clay elements that confer special benefits to the plants and grapes, and enjoy a southern exposure. The training system used is guyot, with a density of 3300 vines and a production of 50 ql of grapes per hectare.
After the harvest, once the grapes arrive at the winery, the fermentation phase begins in ceramic amphorae for about fifteen days. This is followed by aging in amphorae for about 12 months and in bottle for another 12 months.
The result? A fine and elegant wine, extremely versatile at the table because of its ability to perfectly accompany many dishes. It is recommended as an accompaniment to both raw meat appetizers and pasta dishes with tomato-based sauces. Also excellent paired with fish dishes, especially in soup. It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 13° C.
