Greco di Tufo DOCG by La Molara: why we like it
This Greco di Tufo DOCG wine is obtained from the careful selection of 100% Greco grapes from vineyards located in the municipality of Montefusco (AV), at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level, and characterized by a clayey-sandy soil type. The vineyard is cultivated with a density of 4500 vines per hectare and a production of 70 quintals of grapes from which 49 hl of wine derive.
The grapes are harvested by hand in boxes in mid-October and transported to the wine cellar where they are carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 20/30 days at a controlled temperature between 12° and 15°. Subsequently it spends a period of refinement in steel for 8 months and at least 3 months in the bottle. The result is a characteristic, full-bodied, fine and pleasant wine.
The specific characteristics of this wine elegantly match with vegetables and legumes, crustaceans and raw seafood, white meats and more elaborate fish-based dishes. It is recommended to taste it in a tulip goblet at a service temperature of 10°C.
