The wine is deep ruby red to the eye, enhanced by garnet reflections that become more pronounced with age. The bouquet is deep and enveloping, with aromas of morello cherry, dried violets and small black fruits, enriched by nuances of sweet spices, leather, tobacco and underbrush. The palate offers a solid and harmonious structure, with velvety tannins and a long aromatic persistence. A great meditation wine, perfect to accompany special occasions and to refine over time.

Il Taurasi di Antico Borgo è senza dubbio uno dei migliori aglianico che abbia mai assaggiato. Potente e raffinato allo stesso tempo, si presenta con un colore rubino intenso che anticipa un bouquet complesso di frutti di bosco, liquirizia, tabacco e spezie dolci. In bocca è ampio e avvolgente, con un finale lunghissimo che lascia il segno. Un vino che vale ogni centesimo e che migliorerà con il tempo.

Quando si parla di Taurasi ci si aspetta un vino strutturato, potente e capace di sfidare il tempo e questo di Antico Borgo non delude affatto. Corposo, con tannini setosi e un’evoluzione incredibile nel bicchiere, sprigiona note di frutta rossa matura, spezie e tabacco, con una persistenza che lascia senza parole. Ho acquistato più bottiglie perché credo che nei prossimi anni saprà esprimersi ancora meglio.
