The production of Taurasi DOCG Riserva wine is based on the employment of the 85 per cent of Aglianico grapes at least, to which it is possible to add until the 15 per cent from other red grape variety’s vines. Even in the case of Taurasi DOCG Riserva, the majority of local winemakers prefers a 100 per cent Aglianico vinification, for this reason this wine is also called “Aglianico in purity”. Before being available for sale, Taurasi DOCG Riserva is aged for almost 4 years, 18 months of which in oak barrels.
