Campania red wines obtained the IGP/IGT designation (Protected Geographical Indication; since 2010 it includes the IGT designation – Typical Geographical Indication) since the beginning of 1990s. The Campania region boasts of ten typologies of red wines classified as IGP/IGT. These red wines are characterized by a more or less intense ruby ​​red colour, a pleasant smell ranging from floral to fruity, and a mostly dry, fresh and harmonious, sometimes sweet flavour.
